History of API

In 1996, API Communications, Incorporated was formed to take the responsibility of the business in the Telecommunications Installation services as a division of API Group. API stands for Advanced Professionals & Innovations. The first company of API Group was API Trading, formed in 1991 for the business of International trading with the various communications products. API Group is now formed with three divisions - International Trading Division (Founded October 16, 1991), OEM Electronics Division (founded July 20, 1993), and Communications Division (Founded in August 21, 1996).

In January 1997, API Communications became one of the certified contractors for the MCI (the second biggest Long Distance Telecommunications company competing with AT&T which was the only before and the biggest Long Distance Telecommunications company in USA) to install MCI's telecommunications equipment nationwide USA from east to west coast. The hottest time was in year 1999 to 2000 and had about 200 technicians out in the field across the country. API's reputation in telecommunications is based on the quality workmanship at competitive cost and responsible for the customer care at almost 24 hours 365 days. API's mission is Total Customer Satisfaction.

In November 2000, API Communications entered into an agreement with "Geto Korea" to become the United States partner for operating the "Geto USA" franchises of the Geto Internet Cafe. Currently selling Geto Internet Cafe Franchises.


In April 2001, API Communications opened the first Geto Internet Cafe in the United States in Schaumburg, Illinois. This store is not franchised and is still owned and operated by API Communications.


In September 2001, API Communications added Video Surveillance Equipment to its product line. The product line includes the latest technology of cameras and recording equipment. API is supplying dealers as well as retailers.


In November 2002, API merged and acquired one of the customer companies, "InterBay Technologies". Interbay Technologies was one of the major suppliers of installation services to Major Communication Companies (SBC, Verizon, Bell South). With this acquisition API Communications broadened its customer base, installation service offerings, and added custom cable assemblies to the product line.


In April 2007, the company name, API Communications, Inc., has been changed to API Security Systems, Inc.. API Security Systems, Inc. became the US Exclusive Distributor for Uriel Systems on Video Surveillance Equipment to its product line. The product line includes the latest technology of DVR System and Capture Board equipments. API is supplying dealers as well as retailers.
